alright, i hate blogger for this. i typed a long long entry, and thanks to blogger, everything is gone. rah. this is the last straw. byebye blogger, hello wordpress.
still, i shall retype the last entry here.
haven really been blogging much cause im pretty lazy and tired.
my life have been basically the same everyday. orange lantern is a daily affair.
and now i know, its not because of doggywood that our sales managed to hit at least a thousand that two days. its all thanks to the media. we were featured in u weekly and also 972fm. so that was what that caused the increase in crowds.
life has been fun there, thanks to meowmeow and superman. they cause time to fly like nobody business. this thursday will be superman's last day, and yes, i will miss him. he is kind of fun and lame la.haha. and meowmeow, his good heart has nothing to do with him. and i know theres nothing betwen u and him. heh!
i hate customers that comes between 11am to 6pm. okay. its like the whole afternoon. i like to do my opening really s-l-o-w-l-y and i love to nua my lazy afternoon away. so customers, in order to get the best service from me, kindly refrain from coming within this time. and to prevent irritating me, don come in after 9, so that i can close early. (:
ate boss's rival's pineaple seafood fried rice yesterday. and now, i know, our fried rice is really nice compared to others. there is just a little pineapple in it, and they are SOUR. the rice tasted just like steamed rice. wasted meowmeow's money. so next time when u see siam kitchen, better SIAM. (: hah!
went back to jurong sec to collect my testimonal today. thanks miss tang, it was really nicely written. but still, i waited for one and a half hour for it, just because miss tham haven sign. oh man. it takes merely less than a second to sign! rah. so i lazed around at mrs ng's area with hanny, and she scolded me a betrayer, just because i chose accountancy, and not food cience and nutrition. haha. she is still so cute and funny. love her so so so much. haha. went to the canteen to grab a bite, not because i miss the food, but im really staving. still, its cheap! ((: met sugar daddy, and both of us got really excited. yes, mr tan misses us! heh! he asked us to visit him in the hod room later. did some catching ups, and he gave us his number, and asked for ours. he wanted us to keep in contact and to visit him often.(: was flipping through my secondary school photos just now, and realised the fun times i had. really misses my secondary school life. ):
went to sp after that and lost my way in there. met a kind postman who offered to help me pass the letter over to the student affairs dept. thanks mr postman! went down to causeway and watched 'the haunted school' with hanny and yanrong. i swear i only watched 20 minutes of the roughly 90 minutes movie. haha. it was SCARY. i was like holding on to yanrong who is equally scared. haha. and it was stupid of me to pay money to scare myself. but still, im interested to watch 'dukun'. heh! and i think that movie is worst. i will only watch around 5minutes of the whole movie. haha. and yes, i must watch 'the number 23', seems to be a really nice movie.
rah. i spent slightly less than 10bucks on transporation alone. rahhhhh. super ex. if only my card goes 'teet teet' instead of 'teet' and deduct only 45cents no matter how far i go. ):

disney on ice- finding nemo tickets!
meowmeow and i won a pair of tickets each at hougang mall's doggywood lucky draw.

im so so so tired; for god-knows-what reason.
went for the company anniversary dinner last night at jumbo.
after some warmups, its quite fun.
drank beer and beer and beer and a little volka. (:
didnt know they all tasted so good. (:
hah! i didnt show a single evidence that ive drank such stuff outside, but i confessed to everyone at home. haha. got nothing. no scoldings no everything. haha. only, 'self control hor' haha (:
so unlike meowmeow whose face showed everything; and worst. she cant even walk stand properly. haha.
odi developed the photos taken last year during my birthday for me. (: thanks!

received my sp letter alr.
got everything done today- the checkups. the payments. filling in the forms. the online application.
but thanks to my bloody menses, i have to go for another urine test next tuesday.
the nurse was stupid, "theres is blood in your urine"
"my menses just ended yesterday. so theres still a little. but im normal." (like duh)
"no. there is blood in ur urine. not normal, come back again for your urine test"

wasnt quite in the mood to blog these days.
lets see. first of all, my postings! i was posted to SP accountancy. (: i guess im quite happy, aside from the fact that i have to start travelling again. but its okay le, i should to used to it already. haha. and hopefully i don drop out in the 2nd sem or at year2 like what many did as what shanyuan said. and of course, i hope to get that bloody scholarship from sp. isnt it good to study for free. and whats better? it pushes you to ur very best, and allow u to get 2diplomas in 3years. and im already aiming at the specialist diploma in applied business psychology. ((: just hope that everything goes smoothly. (: going down to jurong sec most probably next week to collect my testimonial. miss tang is kind enough to settle it for me first because i need them.

kelvin and kelly came down on monday. max came down on tuesday. ah tao came down yesterday. it feels good to see them. and yes, i miss them. i remember myself being happy working at orange because the people there are fun. it totally different apart from the fact that meowmeow makes work enjoyable too. ah tao slimmed down a little and i think max looks slightly younger with his newly cut hair and a bit of styling. meowmeow bought me lunch on monday. black pepper chicken. thanks yah! and that mr ah beng presume its abalone, and i should be thankful. haha. mr ah beng, im already thankful for the lunch although its not abalone. haha. and oh, mr ah beng slimmed down a little, making him look slightly less beng, or was it because he was smiling, which makes him look less dao? ok. whatever.
voodoo doll asked why i wont want to work part time after march. and yes, i told him straight. working with him will make me cry. haha. i think its kind of bad to say that. but its okay since he don really get it. still can ask me why i have to cry when i work with him. isnt it obvious? a second seems like a million years, time is oh-so-difficult to pass with him around.
shanyuan was still telling me its better to go jc and jc life wont sucks. and since i wanto enter uni, jc will be a better route. and end off saying, its my choice la. haha. stupid. he saw voodoo talking to me, and i wasnt replying, or rather, i didnt even bother to listen. he came over and told me to entertain him lah. the way he says it was funny. then he suddenly pulled off the company dinner paper off the wall, walked over and said " cecilia! u going ma?" then i was telling him im not sure. if meowmeow go then i go. see first. then said" huh? u even think about going. aiyoh! this kind of thing don need to think one. don go such events la." -_- haha. he wasnt very much the liangshanyuan i knew yesterday. haha.
and ya. my beloved meowmeow left on tuesdayevening, leaving me with all the shit. and i cant believe, even JIMMY asked me to go. i was already a bit surprise when voodoo asked me to go. and brother actually begged me to go. thanks to michael telling everyone how bad i was not to go, i almost died there. so meowmeow, what are u going to do?
got my pay arleady. for for all the bloody shit and truckloads of apologizings we have done, for the kazuwa service and the wormy noodles, our tips is only 15bucks. and the kitchen people? 20 and 25bucks. oh so wtfish. i think i have to get myself painted black too. then i will get more tips. haha X)
and for the first time, im spending my offday AT HOME. damn the bloody nose. my nose are being blocked up. sore throat. and the phlegm that is like stucked in the middle of my throat. rah. shall just get an mc for tomorrow! stay at home and sleep for another day.

my head gave me some hell last night. went off to sleep early.
time passes very quickly today. must be because meowmeow is around. next weeks's schedule is out. it kind of sucks. i'll be working with the bloody black rose, every single day except my off day. this is holly hell. but at least i managed to reduce my splits from 3 to 2. and its actually 1, meowmeow, i asked for sunday for YOU okay? (: haha. and oh, i saw shanyuan on the schedule. (: finally, part timers! i really enjoy seeing and working with different part timers. at least they are way better and fun then black rose! no more kelly and nur. sian. its amazing how LITTLE part timers we are left with. the list used to go as long as 16, 17. now? 5. pathetic 5 only! and 4 are full timers. the schedule seems to rotate around the 4 of us only. hurhur.
black rose is now the king, and i hate him THIS much. and i think adam knows we really dislike him. well, our actions and words show. heh! boss seems to like him alot. his student ma! lol.

i cut my hand today. the first cut after 3whole months. and it happened when i was slicing the lime. and the acid actually slipped into the cut. and tadah~ PAIN. =X

slept late last night and was forced to wake up early, cause baby slept early and woke up early.
played with him for what seems like 200000000000years, although its only 2hours. im amazed that he is not even bored. and i was like bloody sleepy with the super cool weather.
then at 9plus close to 10, meowmeow messaged me and told me she's still at lakeside. that is like, wow, so cool! so super nice cecilia volunteered to help her do the opening until meowmeow reach hougang. and somehow, both adam and meowmeow gave the same comment on me being nice. "u got so good meh", "wa, she so good ah". suspecting me of my kindness? haha. i am kind to my buddies k? haha. but still, i punched the wrong card. haha. i saw meowmeow's name, but took the card in front of it. lol. went out with my cousin. saw this puma bag which i kind of like. but the last piece has scatches, so i didnt buy in the end. =( bought my contacts. (: changed to weekly de. (: costed me 304bucks. and i paid them on my own! (: haha. there's an increase in my degrees =( but im kind of happy cause both my eyes are 300degrees now. which means, i can take out both and wash both together. (: went down to hougang mall, passed michael papa's namecard, and told him to say he is my friend's uncle. he said he will say he is my boyfriend's father -_-

took a cab to work today; cause the rain was like so heavy. kinda lazy to walk to the bus stop, so tadah~ TAXI (:- my favourite mode of transport.
afternoon with meowmeow was super fun (: yes, i really really enjoyed myself with meowmeow around. ate eel with egg and rice, and miso soup from ichiban for lunch cum dinner. yum yum. then we made rice paper rolls with the beansprouts water. (: only meowmeow, me and the camera 孙悟空 looks into know about it. (: then we rubbed the rice paper with our hands and put it on the table to wrap. (: and we pulled the rice paper like pulling a mask to put on our face. (: after that we did the bloody mangoes for the mango salad. i left the alien species for meowmeow to slice since meowmeow was going home soon, and im jealous.
work sucks after 6.30 when my darling left for home :( im was the only chinese there since superman OFF, zhixian OFF, adam clearing RO; which makes me the only whiteee there. but i ended up being a blackiee too. yes, my face was black. 黑玫瑰 is so irritating, "i tease u lah. you must scold me", :bang bang bang (with the hand in a gun position) * i did not react*, you must ah ah ah", -_- whatthefishyfishyfish. ...blahblahblah. super noisy. wasnt in a very good mood then. and i think i almost slap him. dear meowmeow, 狗仔 first offer to help me cook lunch made me change my opinion of him too. i became less bias towards him. but trust me, you will soon start disliking him again. haha.
and i totally agree that the bloody 黑玫瑰 is being super irritating, and always presume he is right. he is getting on my nerves. and now, he is like starting to ignore the questions we asked him. the the fishyfishyfish. he thinks he is big just because he is getting his nametag; and just because adam will start teaching him the bar counter from tomorrow onwards? hahaha! like shit! (: he will still not beable to take the place of superman, meowmeow and i. they will just go a little crazy and insane if we 3 leave together tomorrow. well, IF. haha. 狗仔 was a little shock to see me looking at him today. (: 平生不做亏心事,半夜敲门不吃惊! too bad, i saw him wrapping the chicken wrap for 白斩鸡. heh heh! now he owe me one (: he offered to cook dinner for me after that. wahaha. i love that classic look on his face. clearing my ROs on monday and thursday. then OFFing on sunday. meowmeow OFFing on tuesday, which means we will only be working together for 3days. =( superman OFFing on tuesday too. leaving me with the nepalese only. and yes, that sucks.

had been super tired yesterday for don-know-what reason.
slept the minute i closed my eyes. but i supposed my brain was dead even before that.
work had never been tiring before. until that 狗仔 came. life there hasnt been easy, time passed patheticly slow. somehow he enjoys pushing all blames to me, love watching meowmeow and i, and is always overjoyed when meowmeow and i did anything wrong. his favourite phrase is definitely" 来来来! new order! 来来来!", sounds so much like we were selling durians. 黑玫瑰 is like the 走狗 of 狗仔. and i think they enjoy talking about us in their language. 黑玫瑰 is ever so noisy and 狗仔 is ever so nosy. i think i dislike them both. navin is the only fine nepalese around. though i don like it when he try to act smart when telling me things. and i think he knows i prefer working with the old bunch of gang. wow. what a nice way i have put it in.
i felt super grateful to superman the minute i realised if i didnt swapped the schedule with him, i will end up doing closing with all of the nepalese, worst, without adam, and with 孙悟空! that sucks. and yes, i was feeling a little sorry for superman.
孙悟空 quarrelled with adam on friday, over a piece of basil leaf, then the green mangoes. and like what meowmeow said, we acted really like meowmeows, hiding behind the blind spot. and i think they knew we were scared. okay, i confess, a little kaypo too. haha. adam was still his funny self after that, though he is still angry with 孙悟空. he went off for supper with meowmeow only, because i pangsehed them. mama wasnt very happy with me staying out late too often. =(

hi. it's been some time since ceciliatohzilin last blogged.

she is a happy girl.

she loves working in orange lantern, and is grateful to tanyunlu for recommending her this wonderful job.

she enjoys her work, and the company of all the very funny people working with her.

the people in orange lantern light up her life, especially ah tay, michael and most importantly, SCOTTY the superman.

she has been a great and hardworking staff and everyone loves her as much as she loves herself.


cecilia went out with yijia, andrea and yunlu today.

it was a happy day, and she thinks yunlu is the greatest person in this world.

everyone spent at least $100++ and everyone was happy.

have been busy these few days. mama is taking care of long xuan. he's my cousin's son, 18months only. super cute (: but playing with him is taking a toll on us. haha. he is like so super active (:
scott's birthday is coming. =( have to get him a present since he got me one. thought it should be easy to buy his present since i know he like superman. but, now, i think it is difficult since he has like all the superman stuff already.
ive finally seen kelly, yesterday. the one that kelvin and max says i give them the 'kelly feeling'. haha. yesterday teh delievery man saw us talking then ask me if kelly was my sister-_-. that was the face given by kelly and i. haha. then i was asking kelly if both of us really look alike. then she says maybe its the way i do things. cause when she see me working, she seems to be seeing herself working. heh! how interesting. then the delievery man came today, and saw us again. then he said, WONDER SISTERS -_-
odi told kelvin im super pro in pool. tay told ogy im the best. he can beat everyone except me. yes. i got suan like siao lar. haha. but playing with them is still fun.
my pay is already credited into my account. yay. going to check tomorrow, take money out to spend, give mama. =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR (:
byebye 2007, hello 2008.
went pooling with odi, chris, scott, max, tay and shan yuan.
odi and chris left at 12.30, leaving me the only girl there. -_-
and my pooling sucks. its as good as someone who don't know how to play AT ALL.
the last time i played was like more than 2years ago when yijia they all were around, and before i really start studying hard. haha. back then i was lousy enough. so after more than 2 years, it was like, worst. so, all of them took turns to teach me like im an idiot. ok. this time i agree. im an idiot in pool. but still, it was fun.
left for supper at 401, talktalktalk. and along the way, i got jammed like 125618945468times. i never fail to not catch what they are trying to say. haha. slow. yes. i think im slow. left at 1plus, tay longbang-ed my cab. reached home at 2am. gosh. im seldom home so late. opps. i mean early. haha.the usual 4bucks cab fare was a freaking 7.85bucks. still okay, at least not more than 10 (:
slept at 3plus. woke up at 8plus. hur. 5bloody hours of sleep. its already 2008, and i still cant turn off my bloody body alarm.

2007.
it has been a great and fruitful year for me.
i was the monitress. and seriously, i tried really hard to do everything im suppose to do, and sometimes, realising i have covered other people's duties. but its okay since i really enjoy a busy lifestyle. (: with power comes responsibility. and i think i have been pretty responsible(: the only regret is that i have not been able to make the class a united one, and of course, i didnt organise a class chalet. but, hey. at least there was a class outing to laobasat. (: hah!

my studies went a little downhill. i didnt managed to keep my 1st position. getting 3rd for midyear, and 2nd for prelims. my results were pretty sucky, but the class de results were even more sucky. so, hah! my top 3position.
stress was part of me through out the whole year, until before Olevels. (:

i had a huge quarrel with shufang, that in turn get all the girls kind of involved. felt a little guilty about getting so many people involved. but its over. i glad i have friends who trust me, and are there for me when i need them(: thank you MAOS(:

ROC tried hard to be together. but i guess everyone is busy with their own life; moreover, ours is such a big group. maybe booking them a whole year ahead will be nice.(: but still, being close with yunlu, yijia, andrea, florence and jingting makes me feel good already. (: friends for life, thats what i feel they are. they make me believe there are be more than one good friend, but still, i keep my stand on having only one best friends. but still, they are my best buddies (:
there are times when the little simple things they do made me feel touched. like, traveling all the way to hougang for dinner with me. i didnt tell you all how glad and touched i was. travelling all the way here is seriously tiring and sian. but no complains about that from you all. that was why i followed to jurong east to take neoprints that night. i was tired. but you guys really know how to make me change my mind. just wanto let you guys know, cecilia loved u people so so so much last year, and will still be loving you all this year, next year, next next year, every year. (:

nothing much for my family. we are still the same. im still being loved, and i still love them. jia jiejie feel like a distance to me. so near yet so far. i hope 2008 will be different. i understand that she has got her own life, and its unfair for her always being the one coming up, staying over , going home alone. so i hope to just quality time with her in 2008. quantity is no longer important. (:

ah tao and odi don believe i do not have a boyfriend. seriously, can anyone tell me which part of me look as if ive got a boyfriend?
no crashes for 2007(:
suddenly realised how sad it is. the last time i had a crash on someone was like 5years ago. which was 2002. haha. and, that guy is now dead. hurhur.

joined orange lantern around a month ago, thanks to yunlu. and so far, ive been enjoying myself. (: people there are fun and nice, aside from nur aka ZHU. (:

i hope 2008 will be a greater, better, more fruitful and eventful year for everyone.(:

they surprised me with a white choco cake and presents. i swear this time i was surprised.
thanks odi, scott, guanyong, kelvin, max and tay.
kelvin was kind enough to come down when he's not working. max was kind enough to come working one and a half hours earlier. guanyong was kind enough to stay for one and a half hours after work. a real big thankyou, considering the fact that we have just known each other for not even a month.
scott is a real big head. i blew off 18candles because he thought i was 18. -_- and ya, i didnt count. haha. he thought when he asked me how old i was this year, and i told him im 17. he presume it was before birthday. haha.

one that cost me 8bucks. if i could get the money refunded, i would have topup-ed 4bucks more to get better food at marina.
they got me a cake, and if its meant to be a surprise, im sorry if it sounds abit rude, but to be frank, im not surprised at all. kind of see it coming since you people don wanto meet to go to school together; after watching movie jiu tell me to meet pat, and refuse to tell me whats the thing hanny have to get done with. thats why i didnt probe more when you all chose not to tell me.

didnt went for the roc bbq on monday. was simply too tired.
slept at 8pm that night. hah! woke up at 6plus,7. which makes 11 hours. haha. i havent been sleeping for that long for like years. haha.

super tired. slept till 9 today, kinda late ya.
business was super poor yesterday, i was at the bar and made only 3 barley, 1 lemon tea, and 1 coffee for the whole day (: cool eh?
oh. and we earned only $217.55 yesterday! haha.
was talking to odi yesterday. she had her resignation letter done already; waiting for the day that she cant stand things anymore, she will tender. =(
she was telling me how much she loved her job, but internal conflicts arised, and boss is blinded by everything. he is like a changed person after the opening of our branch. hah! none of my business though. i just have to do what i need to do. but still, i enjoy her company.
scott came over after his day at harbourfront and started complaining about sandy. haha. everyone is complaining about the bloody useless sandy. but seriously, i dislike sandy too. and if odi leave, sandy might come over and take over her place =( and we all shall die.
andandand, scott wore a superman tee, a superman watch, a pair of superman shoes blahblahblah. -_- he is so superman; but i thought its kinda lala for guys at his age to act so supermanly. the last person i saw being so superman was my cousin, 5years old.

i told her im having something on tomorrow.
kinda bad right? i would want the person to tell me straight if he/she doesnt wanto go out with me. but i dont know how to put it in words, so, this lie.
im feeling sorry that i lie, but. yup. ...

back to the farewell party.
was super disappointed, and a lil' angry.
well, i wasnt the only one feeling that way.
but imagine a FAREWELL PARTY for SENIORS, with JUNIORS cooking for THEMSELVES, enjoying THEMSELVES, not really bothering much with the seniors.
this might not apply to all but, well, the majority.
the vice chairman wasnt even there.
food were pathetic.
unmarinated chickens. unmarinated prawns with the intestine intact, wrapped in the aluminium foil, some fish balls, some crab meat sticks, some mashmellows, a lil' bee hoon.
yup, thats all.
we ASKED for food.
got entertained with by some chao tah hot dogs
and tadah. thats the end of the story.
then we decided to go down and cook on our own.
and guess what we saw?

they should either make it for everyone to sign, or just the committee members.
this just make it seem like they did it last minute.
this whole affair just seem like a failure to me. or maybe, we expected too much.

life after Os is like... BORED.
ya. bored is just the right word.
washing dentures(fake teeth), feeding porridge, applying lotion, pouring water...
yup. they are daily affairs, daily routine.
and of course, i wont complain. i wont mind.

but fair enough, i still go out, and my mama doesnt complain me going out too often.
so long as i finish up my share of housework, and my visiting to the hospital every day. (:

emailed 5 companies who are looking for accountants yesterday.
2 companies replied.
one is interested in hiring me. and another, needs resume.
thats silly.
what can i put in my resume? all the schools i've attended? =.=
the first one asked where im staying so that they can put me somewhere near.
hopefully i get the job.
i want to work, learn and practice accounts.
and most importantly, i've decided to pursue my post secondary education in accounts.
and yunlu, it is okay if i don want the orange lantern job after getting this office job?

i have been learning japanese from my sister.
tiring.
i should say my sister is like so ... WOW!
learning another language is kinda challenging.

so just make use of my sister to teach me jap first.

it's totally irrelevant to increase GST to "aid the lower income" because how much more can the rich spend on goods and services?

increasing GST is NOT going to help.
in any case, if Mr Lee were to help the lower income families then he should increase the income tax for higher-paying jobs instead,

it's only fair and sheer common sense if people with a higher income pay more taxes than the lower because the former is able to support themselves well financially and the increase in income tax will then benefit the poor, right?
furthermore, in spite of the acclaimed low taxes incurred by Singaporeans compared to other countries,
i don't see how the income range has increased much even with a constant rise in the costs of transportation, entertainment, taxes, blah blah blah,
and this rise will definitely take a toll on living expenses,
if everything we eat,
everything we drink,
everything we purchase, is increased by 7%.
and if the money will be going to R&D and hospital treatments,
then they should try to seek more external funding to boost research instead,
and perhaps increase hospital costs for private patients or to promote more charity fundings rather than to dig money out of our pockets, much less the poors' pockets.

MOE adjusts timings of GCE O and A level papers on 16th and 17th Nov

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board has made adjustments to the timing of some examination papers for the GCE O and A levels on the 16th and 17th of this month. granny's immune system seems to be getting weaker.
an infection caused her not to be able to pass urine. =(
on the brighter side, she don have to poke the tube into her under part 3times daily.
thats so heng cause its a torture to do that. real pain.

after that, a stomach scan, she cant pass motion now.

3rd day into granny's hospital stay,
and FINALLY she can consume food and water. (:
and no more dizzyness and vomitting (:
she has got a mild stroke, and there is blood clotting at the back of the neck area, causing the cells to be dead, forever.
and i cant believe that there isnt medicine to cure stroke.
rah!
they can only give ah ma medicine to try and prevent another stroke from happening.
thanks god on the day she fainted, she was being holded on to tightly.
i cant imagine what will happen if no one did.
but now, she have kind of lost her sense of balance.
she will be prone to falling down.
guess they wil be employing a maid for her.
hmm. and after my Os, i MUST spend lots of time with her. (:
i don wish to find myself regretting one day.
ow. but i still don understand, how can my super healthy granny suffer from a stroke?
i mean, its like she can even walk faster than me!
and i got her age wrongly. shes 94! (:

when i saw the 5mm, i told myself it was 0.5cm.
i then decided to double check with the ruler, and i concluded its 0.05cm.

last 5 minutes i realised my part (a), i forgot to multiply the radius.
i did it. and everything is now wrong.
didnt have enough time to change everything.

ECONOMIC FACTORS LEADING TO SEPARATION.
clash of economic interest!
1) pioneer certificates:
kuala lumpur wanted to protect its industries in malaya. hence, reluctant to grant certificates for new industries in singapore.
singapore government wanted more pioneer certificates to encourage its industrialisation programme. KL's reluctance to do so hampered singapore's efforts to establish its industrialisation programme.
2) common market:
kuala lumpur was not keen to establish a common market as they felt threatened. high taxes were placed on singaporean goods entering malaya. KL tried to attract foreign investors to the peninsula with attractive financial packages.
singapore wanted a common market to encourage investors to set up factories in singapore. this will gives singaporeans jobs and the economy will be better.
3) financial contribution to federal government:
kuala lumpur proposed that singapore increased its contribution by 20% (from 40% to 60%).
singapore rejected the proposal as it would cripple singapore's economy.
4) bank of china:
kuala lumpur wanted to close the bank of china as they claimed that the funds were sent through the bank to the communists still fighting in the jungles of northern malaya.
singapore did not want to close the bank because it played an important role in promoting trade between singapore and china; and closure of the bank would cause economic hardship for singaporeans as chinese goods are more affordable.

POLITICAL AND SOCIAL FACTORS LEADING TO SEPARATION
1) in the 1963 singapore general elections,
votes for PAP increased. SA did not win a single seat. SUMNO lost 3 seats.
malays in singapore were no longer attracted to SUMNO's communal politics as they did not vote for SUMNO even though they claimed to represent the malay's interest. malays in singapore were attracted to PAP's non-communal approach to politics, and its social and economic programmes to improve the lives of all singaporeans. most singaporeans rejected the communal-based politics of the alliance.
2) during the 1964 federal elections,
PAP sent 17 candidates to take part in the federal elections. they called for a non-communal approached in malaysians politics; criticised MCA as a poor representative of the urban chinese in malaysia and an ineffective partner in the alliance. they tried to convinced the malays in malaysia of its aim of creating a just and equal society.
election results: only 1 PAP candidate, devan nair, won a seat in teh bungsar constituency near kuala lumpur.
PAP participation in the federal elections seen by teh alliance as a direct challenge to its supremacy in malaysia. this had far reaching affects on singapor-kuala lumpur relations. senior alliance leaders like tunku and tun razak were not as tolerant of the PAP as before. UMNO stepped up its criticisms of the PAP. they say PAP as a future threat to malay political dominance in the peninsula, and was afraid that PAP might gain the support of the malays in malaysia. UMNO confined PAP to singapore so that it could not be invovled in malaysian politics. some UMNO leaders began to play on communal politics in its anti-PAP campaign.
2) UMNO's anti PAP campaign:
UMNO aroused feelings of dissatisfaction among singapore malays towards the PAP by focusing on the poverty of the singapore malays; and protraying the resettlement and redevelopment programmes of the PAP as anti-malays. UMNO claimed that these projects were launched to displace the malays from their homes in the traditional malay areas of the kallang river, jalan sultan and west coast. the campaign was carried out for 3months in the utusan melayu, a malay daily newspaper, printed in the jawi script, protraying PAP's politics on education, resettlement and public housing as adversely affecting the malay way of life, rights and interest.
this caused the communal tension to be high.
4) 1964 race riots (21july and sept):
on 21july 1964, over 20000 malays and muslims assembered at the padang to celebrate prophet muhammad;s birthday. leaflets caling on malays to destroy PAP government were distributed. the yang di pertuan negara yusof ishak was jeered at by some malay organisations while giving out his speech. as part of the celebrations, contingents marched from padang to geylang lorong 12. along the way near kallang, a chinese policeman and a group of malays clashed. this sparked off the 1964 race riots. 23 people were killed and 454 were injured. singapore was put under curfew.
on 2aug 1964, the curfew was lifted.
september 1964, fresh riots occured. this time, 13 people were killed and 106injured.
the july and september riots resulted in los of lives, destruction of property and breakdown of peace and order. it showed the danger of communal politics in a multi-racial singapore.
tunku's view on the cause of riots was that it was the grievances of the malays in singapore.
singapore government felt that UMNO's communal politics caused the riots. it was their anti-PAP criticism, rumours, exaggerations and lies aroused racial and religion hatred.
5) 1965 malaysian solidarity convention:
after the riots, alliance party in malaysia announced the reorganisation of SA branches in singapore to provide a stronger challenge to PAP in the next singapore general election in 1968.
PAP reacted by forming the malaysian solidarity convention to create a united opposition against the communal-based alliance. the members were non-communal parties from singapore, sabah, sarawak and malaysia. the main aim was to ensure a 'malaysian malaysia' and equality for all races. PAP spread the idea of 'malaysian malaysia' to the people through booklets and talks. they held rally on 6june 1965 to explain the issue to the people.
UMNO considered the PAP's non-communal approach as conflicting with UMNO's insistence on special rights for malays in malaysia and singapore. they saw the malaysian solidarity convention as an attack on malay rights and privileges; and became worried that similar rallies might spread to other malaysian states. malaysian leaders and UMNO members demanded lee kuan yew's arrest.

Functions:
`works as an antioxidant.
`helps reduce the risk of health problems like cancer.
`promotes healthy cell membranes.

i should just give up on my thoughts of studying HOTEL MANAGEMENT at shatec.
mama says its too expensive.
well, seriously speaking, its really very expensive.
it cost $12600 per semester;
this excludes excludes cost of uniforms, text books, manual, stationery, locker rental fee, library fee, tools, accident insurance and other miscellaneous expenses.
*GOSH*
and the course is like 3 years long, and if you do well, you would be offered another 1/2 year to study higher dip in hotel management.

but that would means another $6352,
which excludes the above as well.

you applied normal eye drop and the next day, you eyes healed wonderfully well without any trace of redness or swellness! i got my eye drop from the doctor and it contains medicine. the next day it was still slightly swollen and red. yours? you tried to close your eyes smaller when talking to me, and had normal eyes when away.
WTH! i really hate the feeling of being cheated. i dont do that to you and you jolly well dont do that to me! i know whats going on around me. im not a fool. and i dont like to be treated as one!

got back my chinese results today.
it was totally unexpected and disappointing.
i got B3.
yes. bloody B3.
cried for nearly an hour.

did i expect too much from myself?

i guess im just like a normal human.
im greedy.
humans are never zhi zu.
when one gives birth to a healthy child, one would want the child to be clever and goodlooking.
on the other hand, if the child is unhealthy, one wouldnt expect the child to be clever and goodlooking, instead, they want the child to be healthy.
i used to think B3 is the worst result i wanto get.
but today, i felt that B3 is such an ugly grade.

trust, is something extremely difficult to master.
in life, we are bound to place our trust in someone else's hands.
it's like an intangible risk-taking investment.
you won't see the rewards you are reaping directly
yet because of the trust you have given, or invested
you feel more safe with that person around, because when things go happen, or go the wrong direction, that person will be there for you.

yet, people need tangible proofs of trust.
like a marriage certificate, a bond, or lots of signatures.
why?
simply because we cannot be trusted.
absolute trust in someone is just a myth that gets played and replayed over and over again either on the TV screens or the cinema projectors.
a person waiting for his or her love for so many years because of trust, and finally, happy ending.
so many people followed this path, and what do they find?
a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
there isn't even any rainbow to start with.

so you place your trust in someone.
when something happens,
you look for that someone.
Nope, they are not around.
you wait.
but they are still not around.
you felt cheated, betrayed.
they are supposed to be there!
because you place your trust in them.
they are supposed to be giving you the rewards you deserve.
yet, they are not there when you hit the dumps.
what happen then?
you start to lose trust.
you are afraid of trusting people again.
you close yourself inwards, and when people starts to get close to you, you push them away, because you cannot be hurt again.
you cannot stand another blow which would probably drive you crazy and make you jump down from a flat.
you feel lonely, but you prefer loneliness to getting hurt by someone you trust again.

trust is risk taking.
its one of the rish you have to take in life.
although along with it comes many possible scenarios,
you have to trust yourself to make the best of each and every of it, instead of shutting yourself out.
trust with a big heart.
have you ever wondered how many people trusted you, yet you were not there when they needed someone?
did you break their trust in you?
was it even close to intentional?
then they start to keep their distance from you.
how would you feel?

"wth! i didn't even do anything in the first place, yet i lose a friend?"

that is how others feel when you suddenly shut them out of your life because they supposedly broke the trust you have placed in their hands.

so how do we handle this issue of trust?
make everything black and white?
pen and paper everything down like marriage certificates or bonds? make it a compulsory committment not to be broken, for the consequences would ne disastrous?
no, that is the strange thing about trust.
once you materialized trust into something tangible, it no longer serves its purpose.
it is no longer called trust.
or rather, it is mistrust.
you only need to do such things if you don't trust a person.
if you trust someone with all your heart, give it a big big heart, and whatever happens, keep the trust there.
have faith.
when things don't go your way, don't blame trust instinctively, because sometimes our instincts can be gravely misleading.
continue to trust people around you, no matter what names people give you behind your back (fool, stupid, brainless, ignorant, wishful, etc), because when you trust people close to you with a big heart, the intangible rewards can be fulfilling, much more fulfilling than a marriage certificate, and lasts longer than one lifetime.
it gets passed on from generation to generation, and love is all around.

the beggar on the road compared to the millionaire living in some mansion, they both come into this world bringing nothing, and they both will depart from it taking nothing.
or to keep it short, ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
life is already a form of suffering.
so why not alleviate this suffering by making things better instead of worse?
those of you out there who are perpetually unhappy about things, do ponder about it.
is blaming the whole world gonna solve your problems?
or is pointing the finger at yourself more useful?
if you blame yourself, at least you can change your own thinking and actions to alter the outcome.
you just have to change one person and that is yourself.
if you point your finger at every other thing, boy to change all of them would be equivalent to.. aiyah it's impossible la.

IM SICK. ):
eye ulcar. fever. sore throat. cough. flu. headache. giddy. nauseous.
well, basically, EVERYTHING.
got a 2 day MC.
but because of the chemistry titration, i went to school yesterday.
and since i can rest on saturday and sunday, i went to school today.
but im feeling terrible.. horrible now.
hur.

anyway, wednesday's racial harmony celebration was VERY VERY VERY FUN (:
totally enjoyed myself.
took lotsa photos, shall upload them when im free.
but our class was pretty unhappy.
they bloodyly counted by the number of students, not percentage.
even miss tang was like saying, WHAT RUBBISH.
we lost to 4/4.
well, since we only have 34students and they have 44!
so stupid.
last time new year decorations also like that.
go around asking, and people will tell you 4/1's is nicer than 4/5!
(people from 4/5, don get offended. (: )
its just because mdm oh teach them? or they are from the better class?

if i asked you now to give yourself a grade, or a score, perhaps from 0 to 100, about your life, how many marks would you give yourself?
it's not about satisfaction, but performance.
how many marks is your current life worth?

i started pondering about these questions some time ago.
everything is judged and given a score these days, performance, aptitude, motivation, and even love.
as much as we want to be non-judgemental, and as much as we want to be kind hearted and not look at somebody in terms of what he or she is worth, we DO judge.
not as in passing a death sentence to someone who deserves it or not, but more like a labelling process.
"Smartasses, dumbnits, skillful shit, blur sotong, irritating fly..."
if you are the employer of a big company, would you look at certificates and As?
if you are the director of a modelling company, do you go for good looks?
damn am I asking stupid questions, but my point is, every freaking thing is this world is judged, and given marks so conveniently that our lives can actually be broken down into binaries or zeros to nines.
imagine numbers floating all around planet Earth.
gruesome.

we are either trying to please ourselves or others in life.
and we are constantly rated for our actions and inactions.
what then, is the RIGHT action.
when there are so many people judging you.
with all the different platforms or benchmarks for scoring, and the huge gap in different people's basis, when is your action ever the 100 marks action?
when is your thoughts or beliefs 100% correct?
is it right when you are following your own moral values when it comes to decisions?
okay we pretend that it is right, but what if you are wrong in the first place?
and how wrong are you?
who is going to tell you?
when you are a baby, your mama or papa will smack the hell out of you when you do something WRONG,
and when you are in schools, that job is left to the teachers and principals,
and your boss will take over when you start working, and if you happen to be the boss, maybe.. your mama does the shit again?
say you are a teacher, how right are you in teaching a kid from right and wrong when you yourself may not be totally right?

everything is this world, is relative rather than absolute.
alot of people think that there is no hope for their children when they fail their exams,
which I think is pathetic.
and money seems to be the favourite word out there, and some might be begging on their knees to differ, that they are just struggling to make ends meet and not really that WANTING for cash.
i will kneel down and beg you back, stop your freaking lies.
money is power, and nobody pushes power away just like no hungry man pushes food away.
we are all hungry, and how to we change it?
impossible.
you can choose to eat less, go vegetarian, or go all out, but the bottomline is, you have to eat.
just like you have to have power, be it to rule others or just to have a control in life. You definitely need control, over certain aspects in your life, some more, some less.

i have slacked my day away.
twice this week.
feeling terrible.
prelims is so near already.
yet, im slacking away.
2days in a week!
